Brian Booker, a fiction MFA student in the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, holds a Ph.D. in English from New York University, and has been a lecturer in NYU’s Expository Writing Program and in the Literature Program at Purchase College, SUNY. He was the 2009-2010 Grace Paley Writing Fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachussetts. Brian’s short story collection The Sleeping Sickness was a finalist in the Iowa Short Fiction Awards, and his stories have been published in The Antioch Review, Conjunctions, Epoch, New England Review, One Story, Shenandoah, Tin House, TriQuarterly, and other journals and magazines.
Gemma de Choisy is a first year student in the Nonfiction Writing Program at the University of Iowa. She is also the Senior Editor (Criticism) at the The Essay Review. She tweets and tumbls
Carmen Maria Machado is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and the Clarion Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers’ Workshop. Her fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in Strange Horizons, Unstuck, Indiana Review, Five Chapters, Opium Magazine, and Best Women’s Erotica 2012 (from Cleis Press). She has contributed nonfiction to The Paris Review Daily and The Hairpin.
Rachel Milligan is an MFA candidate in poetry at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Her poems have appeared in Lyre Lyre, Apiary, and Oxford Magazine.
Candice Wuehle is a recent graduate from the University of Minnesota, where she earned a Master of Arts in English Literature. She is currently an M.F.A. candidate in poetry at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop.
